Admissions

Seminarians come to Alokolum on appointment, for 3 years of formation.

Coming to Alokolum

The path to Alokolum

Priestly formation begins in the local Church. If you are discerning a vocation, your parish priest or diocesan vocations director is the right first contact. Alokolum receives candidates who have been presented by their diocese.

The steps below explain the normal route. Your diocese will provide the final requirements, reporting date and financial instructions that apply to you.

The admissions pathway

  1. 01

    Begin in your diocese

Speak with your parish priest or diocesan vocations director. They can explain the local discernment process and the preparation expected before major seminary.

  2. 02

    Discern with your diocese

Your diocese accompanies the discernment, completes its own assessment and confirms whether you are being presented for formation.

  3. 03

    Receive an appointment

Candidates come to Alokolum through their diocese rather than through a general public application form.

  4. 04

    Prepare to report

Follow the official reporting date, document, travel and financial instructions supplied by your diocese and the seminary.
