Tribute to the Late Rev. Fr. Viatory Muvunyi

Rev. Fr. Viatory Muvunyi (July 17, 1992 – June 21, 2026) was a humble and committed Roman Catholic priest of the Archdiocese of Kampala. Born in Kiziba Parish and formed at Sacred Heart Seminary, Mubende, and Uganda’s national major seminaries, Alokolum and St. Mary’s Ggaba, he was ordained on August 13, 2022, and first served as Assistant Parish Priest at Naggulu Parish and Mitala Maria before becoming a formator and teacher at Uganda Martyrs’ National Major Seminary, Alokolum.

He passed away on June 21, 2026, at the age of 33, and his Requiem Mass was celebrated at Kisubi Minor Seminary on June 23, 2026, where hundreds of clergy and laity gathered to honor his four years of faithful pastoral and formative ministry.
